They are not trying to control you
If a person truly loves you, they don't try to play games, or try some kind of manipulation and control. If you notice that you're being controlled, confront them, and talk about it. It is not a healthy thing for good relationship. True partner will let you just to be you, and to be open minded for everything.
They believe in you
They let you do things on your own, not because they don't want to be involved, but because they believe you can do it.They don't have a sense that your hand must be held through every little task in life. They let you accomplish all your goals , and stand right there behind you to support you.
They're always there for you
All they want for you is to accomplish everything you ever dreamed of doing. They're there to support you through every step. They just love you and want the best for you. If you make a mistake or fail, don't worry they will be there to pick you up.
They keep you humble
They won't let you get cocky and full of yourself. They'll keep you humble, grounded and thankfull for everything. They will talk to you, and show you where you have made a mistake so that you can fix it. So no matter what is about, and how big of a success, they will appreciate it but will also keep you humble about it.
They'll try to learn
Even if they don't understand, a partner who truly loves you will try to learn. To truly understand someone is hard, but they will go through whatever it is just to keep you satisfied and happy, no matter how hard they have to learn and how hard they need to work.
